If you accidentally clicked “Deny” or “Block” when asked for camera access during ID verification, don’t worry—it’s a quick and easy fix.
Vouched uses your device’s camera to securely capture a photo of your ID and a selfie. Without access, we can’t verify your identity, and you may see messages like:
- "Camera Access Denied"
- "Unable to Access Camera"
This guide will help you re-enable camera permissions on your device or browser.
Fixing camera access on mobile devices
iPhone (iOS)
Safari
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps > Safari (or search for "Safari" at the top).
- Scroll to the Settings for Websites section and tap Camera.
- Set the camera permission to Allow.
- We recommend Allow instead of Ask to ensure the camera is able to load.
- Reopen Safari and return to the Vouched verification page.
- Refresh the Vouched verification page by pulling down from the top of the screen.
- If you are still having issues after refreshing, try to close the browser and re-open the Vouched link.
- When prompted, tap Allow to enable the camera.
Chrome
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps > Chrome (or search for "Chrome").
- Make sure the Camera toggle is turned on.
- Reopen Chrome and return to the Vouched verification page.
- When prompted, tap Allow to enable the camera.
Android Chrome & default browsers
- Open your browser (e.g., Chrome or the default browser).
- Tap the padlock icon or site information icon to the left of the address bar.
- Tap Permissions.
- Enable both Location and Camera permissions.
- Refresh the page and tap Allow when prompted.
Fixing camera access on desktop browsers
Chrome
- Open the Vouched verification page.
- Click the padlock icon to the left of the address bar.
- Set both Location and Camera permissions to Allow.
- Reload the page
Safari
- Click the Website View Options button near the left of the address bar.
- Click Website Settings
- Set Camera and Location to Allow.
- Refresh the page.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
- Under Permissions, change Camera to Allow.
- Reload the page.
