Tips to make your verification go through the first time

Verifying your identity can sometimes feel technical — but these tips will help you complete the process quickly and confidently.

1. Use the right device and browser

• A smartphone with a working camera is best.

• Use Safari (on iPhone) or Chrome (on Android or desktop).

• Keep your browser up to date for best performance.

2. Enable camera access

• Always tap Allow when prompted for camera access.

3. Find good lighting

• Use a well-lit area with even lighting.

• Avoid direct sunlight, glare, and shadows.

• Don’t take pictures on a white background (the glare and lack of contrast can cause issues).

4. Take a clear photo of your ID

• Hold your ID steady with all edges visible in the frame.

• Tilt slightly to reduce glare or reflections.

• Don’t cover key details like your name, photo, or expiration date.

5. Take a clear selfie (Face verification)

• Keep your face centered and follow the on-screen prompts.

• Remove hats, sunglasses, or anything covering your face.

• Make sure your face is well-lit, and avoid dark or busy backgrounds.

6. Check your internet connection

• Strong Wi-Fi or mobile data reduces the chance of errors.

• If the page freezes, refresh or try a different browser.

7. Troubleshooting tips

• Restart your browser or device if the process won’t load.

• Try an Incognito/Private tab to bypass caching issues.

• If your link has expired, request a new verification link.

8. Privacy and security

• Vouched only uses your camera to verify your identity.

• Your data is encrypted and securely handled.

• Information is only shared with the organization requesting verification.
