ID Verification is Vouched's core feature and is completely automated with no extra human intervention needed. Using Vouched's proprietary AI, Vouched can verify a candidate's identity by following this general process:
- The candidate captures an image of their ID.
- The candidate captures a selfie image.
- Vouched verifies that both images are legitimate and ensures that the face matches between the ID and selfie photo.
Choose an integration method
There are several different methods to build your ID verification process.
JS Plugin
The JS Plugin is Vouched's recommended solution for most organizations. With this solution, you can embed a small snippet of JavaScript code into your website, and users will automatically be prompted to capture their ID and selfie. The visual interface is fully customizable and includes several different options to change the fonts, colors, and text.
Mobile Handoff is also supported. If a user starts the process on their desktop, they can continue the photo capture process on their mobile device to take advantage of the stronger camera on mobile. Learn more about Mobile Handoff here.
For more information about the JS Plugin, please see our JS Plugin documentation here.
Send Invite API
The Send Invite API is a version of the JS Plugin that Vouched hosts for you. This is especially convenient if you don't want to embed any JavaScript code in your website.
With this option, you can make an API call and trigger a verification link that can be sent to the user's mobile phone via SMS, or via email.
You can also customize the copy that gets included in the message to the candidate.
For more information about using the Send Invite API, please see the API documentation here.
*Note - SMS is currently only supported for phone numbers in the United States, Canada, and the UK.
Vouched Now
Vouched Now is the fastest and easiest way to get up and running quickly. With this method, verification invitations are sent to candidates manually by logging in to the Vouched Dashboard. Once logged in to the Dashboard, click on the Candidates page, enter the candidate's information, and click Create to send the invitation link.
For more information about using Vouched Now, please see our documentation here.
Submit Jobs REST API
The Submit Jobs API is a legacy integration method that is not recommended by Vouched. With this method, the ID and selfie image files are captured first, and then sent to Vouched via API. We strongly recommend using a different integration method mentioned above in order to ensure that the user is capturing a live photo of their selfie and ID.
